PRIVATE RESIDENCE

Aware Design were commissioned to design an extension for a traditional house in the mountain village of Livadia, Cyprus.

Part of the brief was the restoration of the existing house. The design intent was to create an open plan space that opens towards the mountains offering unobstructed views. The marriage of the old with the new structure enhances the existing building adding a contemporary vibe. The materiality of the new extension was intentionally kept simple and raw to align with the aesthetic of the existing house.
